Morganite derives its name from J.P. Morgan, the renowned finance guru of the early 1900s who also held prominence as a discerning collector of valuable gems. Noteworthily, a substantial portion of Morgan's gem collection was curated through collaboration with Tiffany and Company, led by their chief gemologist, Kunz, the discoverer of Morganite.
